Harry, a diplomat at the American embassy in Haiti, decides to commit suicide after a series of tragic failures that completely tarnish his reputation. However, he is unexpectedly saved by a killer named Ariel, who was hired by Harry’s partner, Bill, to conceal his connection with one of the warring factions in the country, to whom he sells weapons. While hiding from rival competitors, Ariel leads Harry to the camp of one of the factions, and they form an unlikely friendship.
Caught in the midst of Haiti's civil war, the former diplomat discovers the true cause of the conflict and the significant role his longtime friend Bill plays in it—Bill, who had once tried to kill him. Together with their hired killer Ariel, Harry becomes one of the only people capable of stopping further bloodshed and, possibly, ending the war.
